YWCA New Britain’s Winter Wonderland to be held Dec. 8

YWCA New Britain’s Winter Wonderland will be held December 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at YWCA New Britain, 19 Franklin Square, New Britain.

The event features the Yule Boutique shopping experience with over 30 local vendors to peruse to tackle your holiday shopping list, children’s activities, a “Happy Holidays From Around the World” show performed by the School of Dance, and even an appearance from Santa to get you in the holiday spirit.

The Yule Boutique will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and children’s activities will run from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and admission is FREE.

Children can enjoy holiday craft making, face painting, balloon animals, write letters to Santa to send to the North Pole, and even have their picture taken with him- all for free.  There will also be a Children’s Shopping Boutique where kids can visit Santa’s Workshop and experience the thrill of doing their own shopping with elves helping them pick out small gifts for their parents or family members.

YWCA New Britain Performing Arts Director, Chris Kuzia says, “Our Winter Wonderland is a very popular event.  With a variety of vendors still signing up, beautiful dancing and singing being rehearsed, and Santa getting ready to spread joy and cheer, this year’s event is going to be even more spectacular than the last.  It has something for the whole family to enjoy, and will get everyone in the mood for the holiday season.”

Everyone who attends will receive a ticket for a teacup raffle, and concessions will be available for purchase.

The day will culminate with a performance of “Happy Holidays From Around the World” at 3:00 p.m.  Admission to the show is $5 and kids under 10 are free.
