Policies & Code of Conduct
Membership Cards: All participants are required to swipe valid membership cards at the front desk prior to attending the gym or group exercise classes. Membership cards can be downloaded via our mobile app.
Cancellations: YWCA New Britain reserves the right to cancel any class or event if there is insufficient registration. Gym membership cancellations must be made in person, after contract obligations are fulfilled. Members will be responsible for dues during the month of cancellation as well as the following month. A fitness agreement can only be cancelled either: within 3 business days of purchase, with proven permanent relocation further than 25 miles from YWCA New Britain, or member becomes deceased.
Refund Policy: A full refund will be given only if a class or event is cancelled due to insufficient registration.
Credit Policy for Withdrawing from a Class: Before the first week of class, member will be given a program credit minus a $5 processing fee. Before the second week of class, member will be given an 80% program credit minus a $5 processing fee. Before the third week of class, member will be given a 50% program credit minus a $5 processing fee.
Closures: No refund or credit is given for scheduled building closures.
Make-Up: Whenever possible, a make-up class or comparable class coupon will be issued for cancellations due to instructor illness or unscheduled building closures.
Refunds: Pass fees are not refundable. Passes will be “frozen” for medical reasons only. A physicians’ note is required within one month of the initial illness, specifying exact dates of required medical leave.
Code of Conduct: It is expected that all members and guests will conduct themselves in keeping with the mission and values of YWCA New Britain. The YWCA reserves the right to suspend or revoke privileges to those who exhibit behavior inconsistent with these ideals.
Parking: The YWCA offers free parking in our lot next across from the court house at 19 Franklin Square.
