Meet Our Trainers

Valerie 

Valerie is the Community Wellness Director here at YWCA New Britain.  She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from CCSU, and her Master's Degree in Public Health from Des Moines University of Health Sciences.  Valerie is a Nationally Certified NSCA Personal Trainer with over 10 years of training experience, and is certified in Les Mills RPM and Bodyvive.  Her main goal is helping her clients dig deep, to discover the fitness potential they may not know they possess.


Rebecca

Rebecca earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Wellness from Arizona State University, is a Certified Exercise Physiologist and holds a level II Exercise is Medicine Credential through the American College of Sports Medicine. Rebecca was a competitive gymnast for many years and is able to use her knowledge and skills learned from being an athlete and a coach when training her clients. She is passionate about helping others reach their goals and live a healthier lifestyle.


Richard

Richard earned his Personal Training Certificate through the National Academy of Sports Medicine in 2017. After the passing of his father at the age of 50, Richard knew he had to change his life and lost 150 pounds. Because of that journey, he decided to help others achieve their own fitness goals and became a certified personal trainer. Richard’s style of training includes a strong focus on multifunctional movements and workouts that really make the most of your time and energy.


Mirza

Mirza earned his Personal Training Certificate through the International Sports Sciences Associations, 2016 & Athletic Training Program at University of Vermont. Mirza was born in Germany and traveled to the United States in 2002. Mirza played competitive soccer for most of his life including throughout high school and in the NCAA Division 1 men’s soccer in college. He hopes to spread the joy of transforming his clients' bodies, both physically and mentally.
