Attendance Counts

Children who attend preschool every day are better prepared for kindergarten and beyond!

Regular attendance benefits children:

  • Good attendance is directly related to better reading skills in third grade.

  • Attendance is a school readiness skill.  A habit of good attendance helps children understand classroom routines and to learn to follow directions.

  • Children learn self-help skills like putting on jackets and an increased sense of independence.

  • They know that school is important to you and you are their greatest role model.

Children who are frequently absent in preschool are more likely to be absent in later grades.

We care about your child's attendance. We will be posting weekly attendance percentages on the doors of your children’s classrooms and using small rewards for good attendance stickers or stars for instance and having them help to track their own attendance.
