Inclement Weather Information
INCLEMENT WEATHER – EMERGENCY EVACUATION POLICY
Please listen to the following TV stations for cancellations: WFSB, WVIT and Fox 61. Parents can also call our main number and press 5 for our inclement weather prompt. This prompt is updated by no later than 5am.
In the event of an unexpected closing of the building due to unusual circumstances (hurricane, ice storm, building malfunction, etc.) during the time that the children are already in attendance, the following procedure will be followed:
- Parents will be contacted at work or home to pick up the child.
- Emergency names will be contacted if parent cannot be reached.
- If the above steps are not successful, the YWCA will contact appropriate authorities to assist in evacuation procedures. No child will be left unattended.
In the event that there is an emergency evacuation, the YWCA and South Church have a mutual agreement to offer shelter to each other. Parents will be notified, and a sign will be posted on the door.
