VALERIE CAMMAROTA
Instructor
Hi, I’m Valerie. I started working here at the YWCA in 2002! I’m also a Certified Personal Trainer, Group Exercise Instructor, and Spin Instructor. I am a CCSU alumni, where I got my BA in Exercise Science. I then went to Des Moines University and got my Master’s Degree in Public Health. I have a passion for health and fitness, and for understanding what factors determine the health of a community. I am married with 2 children (Apple & Fina). My hope is that everyone can find SOMETHING they like that keeps them active and strong – even if it means trying new things.
Instructor
I’d like to say “thank you” for walking through our doors!
I have been a group exercise instructor for over 20 years!
The YWCA is a community I have been proud to be a part of for a loooong time. It has been wonderful to endure the changes and growth of our facility.
By building so many relationships personally and professionally, I have become fulfilled in being part of our fitness members growing positively, becoming stronger and gaining confidence.
I hope to see you in class one day soon.
Again, thank you! You are our pulse and very important to us!

Ysanne Marshall
Ysanne Marshall is a 200-hrs RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher). She has practiced yoga for over 10 years. Below, she explains her journey and teaching style.
For the last 2 years I’ve had the opportunity to continue studying, teaching and traveling with yoga. Through following my breath and intuition. Leading yoga practices in-person and online, teaching the different limbs of yoga and breaking myths. Let go of the idea to understand the purpose. With my journey through my chronic back discomfort, I provide yoga practices that encourage you to follow you breath through your body. Feeling you how your breath moves through your body is essential to calming our body and releasing tension. While providing variations, I do also challenge us to push through the shakes, the sensations of the stretch and the release the body will experience. I encourage you to listen to your body and listen to you breath. My job is to guide you to experience growth opportunities for your light to shine brighter. Gentle + Strength + Balance Yoga

Sheryl Harle
I have been working in the Health and Wellness field since 2014 and love it! I have been trained in most formats and love bringing exercise into everyone’s life. I have specialized in Senior Fitness, Cancer Survivor Fitness and Modifications that we can all use at some point.
I think exercise should have a purpose and be fun. When I teach classes I want every person that shows up to work out to have a good class with good music and know why I am asking you to do certain moves. The corny jokes are always free!
I can’t wait to meet you and sweat with you!
I started my yoga journey as a result of being in a high paced corporate environment for many years along with being a full-time mom. I was there for everyone but at some point, forgot about myself. Rediscovering movement and being more grounded through my yoga practice has given me renewed focus and strength to deal with life ahead. Sharing this positive energy and creating space for others is my motivation for teaching and continues to nourish my soul on a daily basis. My goal is to meet all body types where they are through meditations and flowing Vinyasa, while building strength through a variety of poses. Some of it may be easy, some of it may be hard, but it will all be worth it!
