Michelle Santos-Perkins

Fitness Manager

 I am a certified Performance Enhancement Specialist and Personal Trainer. I have been in the fitness industry for many years and have both a Bachelors and Masters in the Exercise Physiology field. I focus on injury prevention and rehabilitation from surgery or injury. I specialize in creating exercise programs for people with different diseases or illnesses such as MS, Parkinson’s and even Post-Polio. I am married with 2 stepdaughters and a son of my own. My hobbies include taking my son to museums and activity centers, listening to music and hanging out with friends and family.

Heather Labbe

Instructor

I am a yoga instructor, spin Instructor, kickboxing instructor, and a personal trainer. I have three children. I am pursuing my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at CCSU. My hobbies are long walks with friends and hiking in the woods, mountain biking, cooking, traveling

Megan Labbe

Instructor

I am a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Spin Instructor. I specialize in mobility and corrective exercise. I am a former athlete and I enjoy running, swimming, and hiking in my spare time. I am currently a student at Central Connecticut State University.

Valerie Cammarota

Instructor

Hi, I’m Valerie. I started working here at the YWCA in 2002! I’m also a Certified Personal Trainer, Group Exercise Instructor, and Spin Instructor. I am a CCSU alumni, where I got my BA in Exercise Science. I then went to Des Moines University and got my Master’s Degree in Public Health. I have a passion for health and fitness, and for understanding what factors determine the health of a community. I am married with 2 children (Apple & Fina). My hope is that everyone can find SOMETHING they like that keeps them active and strong – even if it means trying new things.

I have been a group exercise instructor for over 20 years!
The YWCA is a community I have been proud to be a part of for a loooong time. It has been wonderful to endure the changes and growth of our facility.
By building so many relationships personally and professionally, I have become fulfilled in being part of our fitness members growing positively, becoming stronger and gaining confidence.

I also have an ace personal training certification and an AFAA group Fitness certification. I live in New Britain. I have one daughter. I’m a dance mom, an elementary school teacher and I like to hike

I am a Zumba instructor here at the YWCA New Britain. I have been a licensed Zumba instructor since 2015 and have been teaching since 2017. I teach Zumba basic steps 1, Zumba rhythms 2, Zumba rhythm 3, and Zumba Gold. I live in Middletown. I have one daughter. My hobbies include yoga, spinning, boot camps, dance, bowling and sewing

Jacqueline Hinkson

I started my yoga journey as a result of being in a high paced corporate environment for many years along with being a full-time mom. I was there for everyone but at some point, forgot about myself. Rediscovering movement and being more grounded through my yoga practice has given me renewed focus and strength to deal with life ahead. Sharing this positive energy and creating space for others is my motivation for teaching and continues to nourish my soul on a daily basis. My goal is to meet all body types where they are through meditations and flowing Vinyasa, while building strength through a variety of poses. Some of it may be easy, some of it may be hard, but it will all be worth it!

Beth Cianchetti

Hello! I’m Beth. I have been the Accounting Manager at Creed Monarch here in New Britain since 1991. I started working out at the Y as a member shortly after when a coworker dragged me along with them during lunchtimes to exercise. Turned out I loved it. So much, that I became an instructor! I’ve been teaching for about 7 years now. I am a Group Exercise Instructor and a Spin Instructor. I have 2 grown children, a daughter, Michelle who now has a 1 year old son, my first grandchild!, and a son Christopher. I enjoy helping people workout, have fun and reaching their personal health and exercise goals.
